Help save TTR's Main Lodge!
Emergency Repairs and Maintenance Fund
We are fundraising to repair the Main Lodge!
Construction on our beloved main lodge was completed in 1991. Having served us well for thirty-five years, the log building is now in need of an emergency fix and extended maintenance. In the spring, Aaron removed some metal which was covering a few of the logs on the west side of the building to discover a significant amount of rot. We can see daylight from inside that part of the building!
The fix will be extensive and complex but we have obtained bids and settled on a good strategy and contractor to rebuild and replace the rotted section of logs.
In addition to the immediate need of hiring a contractor, we need to take measures to prevent this from happening elsewhere around the building. Due to deferred maintenance and the complexity of a log building of this size, this project is also extensive.
In an effort to keep costs down, we will do most of this work ourselves which will include: filling all cracks (checking) in logs, chinking the entire lodge, sanding and re-staining, adding battens on the upper half and painting. We will also do this work to preserve (and match) on the adjacent BBQ shelter.
We need to raise $60,000 for this repair and maintenance project.
As you all know, our main lodge is the hub and heart of camp, where our home-style meals are cooked and served, where worship and teaching happens, and everything in between. Thank you for your help in saving the lodge and keeping it functioning for generations to come!
